Sweet and Sour Koala Loaf

Yields 4 Servings
Ingredients:

2 LB ground Koal
1 cup cracker meal
1/2 cup water
2 eggs beaten
1 onion chopped
salt and pepper as desired1
1 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar

Directions:

Combine every thing except half of the tomato sauce, lemon juice and sugar. Shape meat mixture into loaf (we like to reform the meat into the shape of a living koala) and place in a baking dish.

Combine the remaining tomato sauce, lemon juice and sugar and pour over meat loaf. Bake 350 degrees covered about 40 minutes, basting frequently. Then uncover and bake about 15 minutes more or until koala loaf is done.

    I enjoyed this recipe. However, I used an additional pound of the koala for a larger loaf. I have to say it turned out very well and was a big hit at the party I hosted.

    Whats the difference between a slaughtered koala and a slaughtered cow, or deer? One is more “cute” than the other? Stop being hypocrites, christ.

    After trying some of the more conservative dishes you guys offer (the kitten one- mmm!), my husband and I decided to get a little more exotic. And the verdict? Your koala meat is scrumptious, and so is this recipe! Keep up the great service.

    Okay, dude. First off, you used the Lord’s name in an other than holy fashion, otherwise known as taking it in vain. And that’s not what he wants. After the first sin, animals were intended to feed people. Every single species were to be used both as companions and food. And what makes a cute little koala better than an intelligent pig? Hm? So what if one’s cuter? Grow up and find something better to do than cursing and typing in outraged caps and ruining the fun of those who have a sense of humor.

    I talked my friend into ordering the Koala after we tried the parakeet. I personally found the meat to be a bit wanting. It didn’t have the springy flavor I was expecting. I wonder if the Koala constantly eating Eucalyptus causes the meat to have less flavor. Do you guys know whether eating a more active Koala might be a bit better. I might order one live and try to alter it’s diet for a while to get a wilder taste. I loved the consistency though. Very similar to deer heart.

    Hi all. Just to say that I received my second order of fresh koala. Has anyone ever tried to mince koala meat? I had my husbands 43rd birthday luncheon on Saturday, so I decided to create koala extreme ala Mexico and I have the recipe below:

    Mexican Spicy Koala Burgers
    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 tablespoon olive oil
    * 1 medium onion, finely chopped
    * 1 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped
    * 2 cloves garlic, minced
    * 1 cup salsa
    * 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
    * 1 pound ground koala
    * 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
    * 1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
    * 6 (10 inch) flour tortillas
    * 6 tablespoons sour cream
    * 2 cups shredded lettuce

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Coat a medium baking dish with cooking spray.
    2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, and saute the onion, green pepper, and garlic 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and cool slightly.
    3. In a small bowl, mix the salsa and 1/2 the corn. In a large bowl, mix the onion mixture with the koala, taco seasoning, and 2 tablespoons of the salsa mixture. Divide into 6 patties, and press into the breadcrumbs to lightly coat on all sides. Arrange coated koala patties in the prepared baking dish.
    4. Bake the patties 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Drain any liquid from the dish, turn the koala patties, and spread with the remaining salsa mixture. Continue baking 10 minutes, to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (75 degrees C).
    5. Warm the tortillas in the microwave, about 30 seconds on High. Wrap the cooked koala patties in the warmed tortillas with sour cream and lettuce. Sprinkle with remaining corn to serve.

    Enjoy!
